14. Religious Maturity and Applying Ideals

[126:3-5] By age 15, Jesus gave his first sermon in the synagogue, just after his father’s death put him in charge of leading and supporting his entire family. Not only does Jesus reveal the full potential of religious living at this stage in human development, he also models how we can best grapple with the high ideals true religion confers upon us. Should religious ideals be fervently adhered to without compromise? Or does the evolutionary process warrant adaptation? Once again, Jesus shows us the way.
